One celebration that stood out was the 75th Annual Community Service Award that went to Mr. Duayne Fletcher from Osceola, Iowa. The Holidays mean giving and helping those in need. The Clarke Schools Food Pantry has been recipients of overwhelming charity this season. With recent donations from local businesses and organizations as well as incredible support from the community, the pantry will be adding hours in the week before Christmas and hosting other opportunities for children and families to participate in.

While recent community water conservation measures have shown daily water use averages down and the dropping levels in West Lake slowing, the Osceola Water Works Board, City, and Clarke County EMA are encouraging water customers to consider implementing a bottled water routine for their daily water consumption needs.

The recent Community Nonprofit Forum hosted by CCDC provided more than the opportunity for nonprofit organizations to present their platforms and missions to help the community. It also provided a huge boost to the lucky winner of a $5,000 donation drawn from names of those attending the event.
Just in time for the holidays, this year’s recipient was Clarke County’s Toys for Christmas organization.
