Job Title:  Youth League Umpires

Dates:  Games begin in May – June

Hours: Monday – Saturday and game times will vary but usually 5:00 to 8:00p.m.

Pay:  Home plate only is $35 per game.  Home plate with a base umpire is $25 for home   plate and $10 for base umpire.

Job Duties:

  • The umpire will arrive fifteen (15) minutes prior to the scheduled game time
  • The umpire will officiate youth baseball and softball games
  • The umpire will talk with each coach before the game and review any ground rules, unusual circumstances
  • The umpire will make sure all players are dressed in proper uniform
  • The umpire will remain unbiased while umpiring contest and will avoid verbal contact with spectators
  • The umpire will approach his/her position as a representative of Osceola Parks and Recreation, displaying respect for the facility, participants, parents and co-workers
  • The umpire will keep track of game start time and time limit


  • Must be at least 14 years of age.
  • Experience in umpiring youth league games (willing to train)

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to take the initiative to do the work that needs to be done
  • Ability to work independently
  • Self-motivator
  • Knowledge of youth baseball and softball rules
  • Good decision-making skills
  • Ability to deal with public diplomatically

Physical Demands:

  • Able to crouch for periods of time during games

Job Description:  Ball Field Coordinator

Dates:  Starts in May – June

Hours: Monday – Friday 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. or later depending on games scheduled

Pay:  Will be $12 per hour and will be paid weekly through season

Job Duties:

Person will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the youth ball games.  Duties will include helping umpires find equipment in shed, games balls, end of the night scores, overseeing any issues that arrive during games. If an umpire is a no show your job will be to find someone to umpire that game.  After the games are completed there are 5 helmets in each dugout which need to be picked up and placed back in the garage area on the shelving (Fridays only).  Other duties are to make sure that the bathrooms are equipped with toilet paper in each stall, pick up trash and bottles around the ball field area.  Recreation Supervisor will describe other responsibilities with person hired.


  •  Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Experience in youth baseball and softball rules, umpires, etc.

Osceola Clubhouse Manager

The Osceola Municipal Golf Course is seeking a qualified Clubhouse Manager.
The position is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the Clubhouse and event management including golf tournaments and special events. The Osceola Public Library permanent part-time library assistant position performs para-professional level work under the direct supervision of the Library Director.

Library assistants are responsible for routine circulation desk duties, tasks and assist Library users as needed and must maintain a high level of service performance standards. Library assistants play a vital role in shaping innovative services for children, teens and adults. Bilingualism is encouraged and Spanish speakers are highly desired.

Library assistants may also be responsible for the supervision of volunteers, pages and the creation and maintenance of public relations materials. Library assistants often work with minimum supervision.

This position may also assist with creating and distributing marketing materials, social media posts and may take pictures for social media. Some off-site work in conjunction with community partners, schools and other organizations to promote the library and its services may also be required.

Qualifications and education requirements include: a high school diploma or equivalent (GED/HSE) is required. Preferred: library technical assistant degree, two years of college or 1-2 years of library experience.

Physical Demands: Frequently required to walk, sit, talk and hear. Frequently required to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls and to reach with hands and arms. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and various office equipment. Occasionally required to climb step stools or ladders; Occasionally required to balance, stoop, kneel or crawl. Occasionally required to lift or move objects of 40 pounds.

This position is an 18 hour a week position with pay scale ranging from $8 to $11 per hour depending on skill set and experience. The permanent part-time position receives I-PERS and a reduced rate on supplemental insurance coverage through AFLAC insurance provided by the City of Osceola.
