This Saturday, August 19th, from 10:30am to 1:00pm, Osceola and Clarke County’s flying community, along with supporters and friends from around the area, will come together to thank Lyle Persels for his commitment to the Osceola Municipal Airport and to dedicate a Terminal Building to Lyle in celebration of his long-time involvement and leadership within the community.
For decades, Lyle Percels has been the driving force behind the Osceola Municipal Airport. As a passionate proponent for the development of a modern and accessible airport for Osceola and Clarke County, Lyle has not only been an active participant and mentor for pilots around area, but also a leader in a majority of the Airport’s growth and expansion over the years.
“Lyle has quite litterally been ‘The Guy’ who made the Osceola Airport what it is today,” said Miles Murphy, representative for the Osceola Airport Commission. “We’re expecting quite a turnout from the community and pilots from around the area.”

Clarke County Cattleman’s Association will be serving lunch!
Pilots from near and far will be participating the in Saturday’s “Fly-In,” gathering early on the Osceola field. These pilots will fly-in in planes of all kinds and will be on hand for tours and to show their support and appreciation for everything Lyle has done for the community.
Murphy went on to point out that the event will include a cookout by representatives from the Clarke County Cattleman’s Association and the public is encouraged to come out to join in on Persels’ recognition celebration.
