(OSCEOLA, IA – JUNE 27, 2023) United Farmers Cooperative and Osceola Water Works have partnered to relocate a public water main pipe from the Cooperative’s property to Main Street, (Highway 69). Denney Construction will be the contractor installing the new water main along Highway 69 to Leann Drive. Denney Construction plans to start construction of the new water main starting at the existing fire hydrant south of Cross Ministries Thrift Store. The project will construct approximately 400 linear feet of pipe north to Leann Drive. The water main will be bored under Main Street and connect back into the existing pipe on Leann Drive. The project is anticipated to start July 5, 2023 and be complete by July 21, 2023
The project will close one lane of Main Street while the new water main is installed on Main Street. Traffic control signing will be installed and may result in some temporary confusion and changes to access from day to day. We ask that you please drive slowly and with caution through the construction zone, especially around the contractors’ work personnel.
This project will cause some temporary inconvenience with water main shutdowns to connect the new water main to existing pipe. This will impact residents north of United Farmers Cooperative property. The schedule for completion of the work is somewhat dependent on weather conditions and may vary from this notice. Regular updates to the schedule can be found on the Osceola Water Works and City’s website at www.osceolawaterworks.com or www.osceolaia.net.
We will do everything possible to minimize the inconvenience. If you have any questions, or any special needs, please feel free to call one of the following project representatives:
