Previous management had closed the facility due to a lack of available providers in the area. Southern Iowa has seen an increased need for services ranging from substance abuse and medicated assisted treatment to mental health, child and family therapy. With 48.5% of Iowa’s adults and 51% of adolescents seeking mental health treatment and counseling, Osceola’s convenient placement at the intersection of Highway 34, Interstate 35 and the Amtrak train line makes it an ideal location to serve southern Iowa.

“We are in a unique position to provide mental health and substance abuse resources to an under-served community,” said Bre Leymaster, Crossroads-Osceola Office Manager. “Our trained team of behavioral health professionals will partner with each client to create a treatment plan tailored to that individual’s needs.”

Crossroads Behavioral Health was first formed as a non-profit in 1975 and has been serving the communities of southern Iowa ever since. There are full-time facilities in Creston, Winterset and now Osceola. The Osceola office is the only organization offering MAT services South of Des Moines.

Crossroads-Osceola has a handful of addiction counselors and therapists on hand to offer services to Clarke county residents and the surrounding communities.  Crossroads is continuing to grow and is looking to hire qualified therapists in the Osceola area. They accept a variety of private insurances, Medicaid and Medicare, and will offer a sliding fee scale based on income for those without insurance coverage. It is recommended that prospective clients call ahead to reserve an appointment but Crossroads will provide services for those in immediate crisis.

Crossroads is not associated with Clarke County Hospital or UnityPoint but will collaborate with your health team for a whole-health approach to wellness.

Please join Crossroads Behavioral Health for their ribbon-cutting ceremony February 11th, at 1:00PM and meet the team!
