Reporting to the City Administrator, the Beautification Specialist is a temporary/seasonal position responsible for trimming around poles and posts located in the City right-of-way, garbage and litter clean-up on city properties, graffiti clean-up on city properties, and other similar activities intended to improve the appearance of the community. Work is performed outdoors in seasonal conditions.
Successful candidates must be at least 18 years of age and have a Class C Driver’s License issued by the State of Iowa. Candidates must be able to demonstrate ability to work independently, exercise good judgement, and demonstrate good decision-making skills. A full list job description is available in City Hall.

TITLE: Beautification Specialist
Reporting to the City Administrator, the Beautification Specialist is a season position responsible for maintenance and the appearance of city-owned right-of-way areas.
Small tools and lawn equipment; vehicles and/or UTV’s.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Mows and trims around light poles, sign posts, and mail box posts located in the right-of-way.
- Picks up garbage and other debris left in the city streets or right-of-way.
- Cleans up or paints over graffiti left on city property.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:
Must be at least 18 years of age and capable of working with small tools and lawn equipment. Must hold a Class C Driver’s License issued by the State of Iowa. Must be able to work independently and exercise good judgement and decision-making skills.
